Here is my display for Ermington Late Night Market tonight, and next Wednesday. 5-7pm I've tried to fit as much as I can on my board! Even though it's a bit squashed I hope people will still be able to appreciate them individually. Next weeks market will be 15th December
Welcome to my website. My work featured on BBC Spotlight in January 2019. I re-cycle second-hand metalwares into artwork. Email me if you would like to order work.

Autumnal Newsletter [Sent] - The 'Gravy Boat'
The 'Gravy Boat' is sailing away, carring my 'Autumnal News'. If you'd like to receive it, and have not for whatever reason, then send me an email. This is a new piece I've made this year. In June I began developing it, after a recommendation. After drawing, models and trial and error with different materials I arrived at this design. Inspired by the 'Merlin Rocket' sailing boats that race in Salcombe.

Featured today on St. Luke's Hospice Plymouth
Just sharing a post from St. Luke's Facebook page today. Very happy to be featured, as I use a lot of there cutlery/metalware donations in my artwork. Like this cockerel for instance. Made mainly from cutlery and serving trays. This is still one of my favourite sculptures, based on a cockerel in the village where I live. A Welsummer/Buff Sussex.

Here he is standing big and tall for the camera, I spent a couple afternoons following him surreptitiously around with a camera, and tape measure! I don't have chickens myself, and it was fascinating watching him and the hens. The hens were really gentle and inquisitive animals, they came right up to me and pecked me if I had anything with metal on. Like my camera case sticking out of my back pocket, which gave me a jump!

Stone Lane Gardens - Ed Hill Metal Art - Outdoor sculptures
These are 2 of my recycled metal art sculptures photographed at 'Stone Lane Gardens'. Both sculptures I have tried to capture the beauty of the damselfly and cockerel. I have paid close attention to proportion, symmetry and balance.
I wanted to create a striking sculpture for a pond, (a piece of pond art, this is something I have not seen much of) It is based in a smooth stone, so can be placed on a pond-liner, so the stem appears to come out of the water. It plays to the strengths of metal as a sculptural medium. In that, one can make large delicate looking artwork. Unachievable in other mediums. It uses new stainless steel for the wings, but most else is recycled. My most memorable damselfly memory is swimming in Ermington river during the heat of the day, and observing the electric blue damselfly going about their business above the water.
'Something worth crowing about!' I am pleased the way the cockerel brings a burst of light to the dark foliage of the trees. Both of these sculptures are the result of many hours study, using photos, sketches and working with recycled materials to best capture their forms.

Damselfly - Stone Lane Gardens Sculpture Trail - Chagford, Moretonhampstead, Devon.
Hot off the press, here is my recycled metal art damselfly, I have designed this to anchor into a rock, so it can be displayed in someone's pond. Stone Lane Gardens will be exhibiting artwork from local artists till the end of October 2020.
This photo does not convey the size of this sculpture, it is fairly large. Roughly 50cm in length, it is made from an assortment of recycled metal. The 'piece de resistance', however is some special Italian 'new' stainless steel, which I have used to create the green wings. I love the way it changes colour from different angles and gives a kick of colour. I am very happy with it.
This idea had evolved from the 'big green dragonfly', I have had the idea of a damselfly resting on a twig in my head for some time, but it wasn't until the other day that it came off. I was going to create another dragonfly, however I thought the body just didn't seem right for a dragonfly, and suited a damselfly. I looked around for something to form it's tail and found the perfect tube of stainless steel, a tent pole or something like that. This is something I'd selected along time ago, from one of my charity shop foragings. I'm so glad I collected it, like so many other pieces of scrap, sometimes they come in very handy.

Work is well underway for TrailArtUK, Teignmouth

I'm using reclaimed stainless sheet and mild steel to create this large sphere. I'm hoping it will be an intriguing sculpture, with texture, colour and shape. It is developmental for me, as I am exploring two contrasting metals. I want it to be simple enough to allow people to project what they like onto it. to appear soon at Teignmouth TrailArtUK Reclaimed Sculpture exhibition. Bottom right: World War 2 callipers given to me by a family friend. His dad made these, and they were used to make tanks during WW2. I have adapted them to cut out circles with one of my machines, so still being used to make circles!
